I designed and produced the BDA China Online web site, as well as two iterations of the company logo. I'm still retained as an interaction design consultant and web master, so projects wth BDA are ongoing. BDA is a small telecoms/Internet consulting and investment firm that liases between companies in China and foreign investors. The web site was designed around 6 main areas of information, which are accessible from the main Contents page (top left) and from all pages on the site. One particular feature I designed and built for the site was the Interactive Map of China Telecoms Data (bottom left). The challenge was to fit a large amount of statistical data on China's 30 provinces into a compact interface as well as making it easy to use and quick to access. The result is a very simple geographical map and alphabetical province list which provide access to the data, all in a compact 60K file. The Map is also available to clients as a standalone application on a floppy disk. |
