Popular mainstream web sites for the Macintosh Internet community tend to cater for people who have an appetite for detailed, up-to-date information. Layouts are often in a chronological list form, with newer articles being added to the top. This provides a historical view, but does not help the casual user find what is most important or an overview of what is covered.

The web site I designed uses one of the strengths of the Web medium - hyperlinks, as the focal point for the content. Software resources are displayed in a "map" form - grouped visually by function. A "summary" page is offered, showing a selection of the most recent items. The end result is a very concise and compact compendium of links to sites and software that hides most of the underlying detailed information until the user wants it.

I produced the site for 5 months in 1997. It wasn't without its flaws, and I wanted a new look for the site, so I redesigned it in 98.
